Sudisobe VZW is a diaspora organization that offers a platform for all companies or people who add value to a better life and a more tolerant society.

The organization was founded by M.H. Zaalblok, Surinamese Dutch, who emigrated in Belgium with the idea of bringing together an intercultural group of people in Belgium (Antwerp). With Sudisobe we want to contribute to poverty alleviation in the neighborhoods through inspiring education. By organizing neighborhood-participating activities, we aim to strengthen social cohesion.

We are convinced that the more than 170 diaspora nationalities in our city can be an enormous enrichment. Unfortunately for most residents this cultural wealth remains largely unknown and untapped.

Sudisobe VZW wants to provide an answer to this by bringing people closer together, irrespective of their color, origin, religion, philosophy of life, political conviction or sexual orientation. We want individuals and communities to get to know each other, to enter into dialogue and to exchange experiences.

In addition, Sudisobe VZW is concerned about the current global state of affairs, with quick money gain always taking precedence over the social and economic balance and the conservation of nature reserves. Here too we want to help build a different model where fair trade and respect for people and nature are central.

Suriname and other countries with a heavy history of slave labor are home to a wealth of construction and agricultural land. This represents a huge potential for reducing large-scale unemployment in these countries. Among the unemployed are many educated people who are ready to help build a sustainable, ecological society. As a diaspora association, Sudisobe wishes to help stimulate and support this process by combining midfield associations. Together we are able to offer citizens more resources in bilateral consultations with policy makers.

What do Belgium and other European countries have to offer? What is the EU’s added value for global socio-cultural and economic cohesion ??? We try to answer these questions through in-depth collaborations.

There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.
